Our Thrift Shops support our community-based services that equip homeless families and young adults with the life skills necessary for long-term success.

This full-time role is committed to fostering a Christlike culture by modeling integrity, compassion, and service in all interactions, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for volunteers.

The Volunteer Coordinator/Admin requires limited administrative tasks for the overall operation of the store. It is primarily responsible for cultivating an established volunteer culture, with 100’s of volunteers serving with us every month.

As Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating volunteer assimilation, engagement, and retention through needs assessment, hands-on training, and relationship building. You will coordinate all volunteer events within this location, and contribute to developing more effective volunteer mgmt IT solutions that ensure effective support for the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities
– Assimilate and supervise volunteers to ensure they are effectively contributing to organizational goals
– Participate in volunteer recruitment strategies and execution
– Provide training and orientations to volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared and engaged in their roles

– Coordinate events. Leverage events to increase and retain the volunteer base.

– Coordinate volunteer schedules, assignments, and communications
– Monitor volunteer performance, engagement, and provide feedback and support as needed
– Collaborate with various departments to coordinate volunteers with suitable opportunities
– Identify and utilize more effective volunteer management IT solutions.

Requirements
– Collaboration Skills to work effectively with others

– Flexibility in responding to changing priorities

– Demonstrated experience in volunteer management, including supervising and retaining volunteers, events, and relationship mgmt

– Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers

– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

– Proficiency in social media for engaging volunteers in promoting opportunities

– Familiarity with vol mgmt software

– Public speaking skills for conducting orientations and training sessions

– Background in working with Seniors is helpful

FT Position  
Compensation Range- $40k-$45k, plus benefits (commensurate with skill set).
