Position: Supervisor/Volunteer Manager – Hillcrest Thrift Shop

Summary/Objective
Our Thrift Shops fund our supportive services that equip local homeless families and young adults with the life skills needed for long-term success.

The Supervisor/Volunteer Manager is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest services. The position is responsible for the various tasks involved in the overall operation of the store, including managing volunteer assimilation/events/engagement/retention. Developing staff, our volunteer program, controlling expenses, loss prevention, and all aspects of merchandising and inventory mgmt. in adherence to all company policy/store standards.

Essential Functions

  1. Ensures that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest-friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest and by maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest services.
  2. Recruit, train, develop and communicate with all staff and volunteers as well as assess performance on a regular basis.
  3. Oversee Volunteer assimilation/events/engagement/retention.
  4. Open and closing procedures
  5. Plan and assigns daily goals, tasks and assignments.
  6. Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities at POS registers as needed.
  7. Improving upon our volunteer I.T. system and best practices for Vol mgmt.
  8. Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
