HPC provides community services to families, individuals, and young adults. Services include but are not limited to, transitional living apartments, emotional and spiritual counseling, life skills training, budget training, and eviction prevention. We manage 35 transitional apartments, funded by our 3 thrift store operations.

Internship Summary/Objective 

HELP US WIPE OUT HOMELESSNESS.  As an intern, you can expect to gain insight into HPC’s multifaceted non-profit organization that addresses homelessness in Missouri. Hands-on experience will include, but not be limited to marketing, fundraising, volunteer management/recruitment, social media communications, and special projects.

The internship will be focused on small projects and continuous ones throughout the summer. These projects will improve upon the strategic impact on our community and those less fortunate. 

Our succession plan will afford the right individual a long-term opportunity, full-time employment, and the ability to advance as a non-profit professional.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional environment with a casual dress code and flexible work schedule. 

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role working between multiple offices, however, some other activities may be required at our thrift shops as teams unite for different scenarios. This would require the ability for light-lifting and bending or standing as necessary.

Though, not the norm, an occasional evening and/or Saturday event may require your assistance. Proper notice will be delivered ahead of time. 

Travel No travel is expected for this position. 

 

Preferred Education and Experience College Graduate or close to Graduation  (Graduating in 2023/24)

Majors Social Work/Human Services, Counseling, Human & Child Development, Family & Consumer Science, Psychology, Religious Studies/Divinity/Theology, Special Education, Secondary Education, Documentary/Film, Digital Communication, Advertising, Communication & Media Studies, Urban Planning, Design & Applied Arts, Photography, Graphic Design, Operations Management, Consulting, Non-Profit Management

GPA (preferred) 3.0
