Job title: Maintenance Worker

Work Location: Platte County (Platte City & Parkville)

Reports to: Director of Operations & Events

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages maintenance operations for housing units and thrift stores, including preventative maintenance, construction projects, custodial care, and equipment inventory control.
• Ability to hire and supervise required contractors, manage projects, including both contract and volunteer labor, and ensure the facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
• Acts as primary resource to Case Manager, Resident Manager, and Thrift store managers for property maintenance and repair needs.
• Pick up donations as required
• Drywall, painting and construction projects as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Adequate verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion, and meeting standard accepted practices.
• Problem solving abilities
• HVAC certification preferred
• Plumbing license preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Property maintenance: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Drivers license (Required)
• HVAC Certification (Preferred)
